Princes Trust Partnership
The free 12-week programme is for 16-25-year olds who aren’t currently in employment and want to gain new qualifications and skills to get back into education or employment. The programme includes a community project, a 1-week residential trip, two weeks’ work experience and employability skills.
Project Initiative will be going into each 12-week cohort and delivering our Street Aid sessions. The sessions include conflict resolution, basic first aid skills and street first aid. So far, we’ve delivered into the two cohorts at Cannock, Stafford and Tamworth TEAM programmes.
Andrew Boyle, Prince’s Trust Network Coordinator with Safer Communities CIC, said ‘This is perfect collaboration between Staffordshire Fire & Rescue and Street Aid tackling knife & violent crime. Changing young people’s views and helping to change lives.’
The feedback from the learners has been extremely positive and all of them have said they would now feel prepared to help someone who had been involved in a knife or gun attack.
