Project Initiative were invited to Prince’s Trust, Safer Communities CIC and Staffordshire fire and rescue’s Stafford TEAM 14’s celebration event to witness their graduation from the 12-week programme.

The free 12-week programme is for 16-25-year olds who aren’t currently in employment and want to gain new qualifications and skills to get back into education or employment. The programme includes a community project, a 1-week residential trip, two weeks’ work experience and employability skills.

After delivering our Street Aid session earlier in the month, we were eager to go back and meeting with individuals taking part in the programme to see how they were doing. The confidence levels in some of the individuals was amazing as they stood up in a room full of people and told them how their lives have changed since coming on the programme.

Sian Osborn is Prince’s Trust Programme Assistant for Stafford and was thanked for all of her hard work by TEAM 14 with flowers and a handmade card – an emotional moment for everyone in the room.

A few of the individuals came up to the Project Initiative team and thanked them for delivering the session, and said they now feel confident about giving someone lifesaving first aid.
